Liskeard Renewal Partnership: Working Together for the Town’s Future

Liskeard Renewal Partnership brings together representatives from the public, private and voluntary sectors to help make Liskeard a better place to live, work, visit and enjoy. Its purpose is to turn shared ambitions for the town into practical action by coordinating activity, developing projects and helping organisations work towards common goals.

By combining local knowledge, experience and resources, the Partnership can identify opportunities, avoid duplication and build stronger cases for investment and grant funding. Its work is informed by Liskeard’s Town Vision and Neighbourhood Plan, with a focus on projects that strengthen the local economy, improve the town’s appeal and create lasting benefits for the community.

Three priorities for action

Business growth

The Partnership will support a thriving local economy by encouraging enterprise, helping existing businesses to grow and making Liskeard an attractive place for new investment. This includes improving connections between businesses and partner organisations, sharing information about support and funding, and developing projects that strengthen the town centre and wider local economy.

Events and the evening economy

A varied programme of events can draw people into the town, celebrate Liskeard’s character and support local shops, hospitality venues and services. The Partnership will look at ways to strengthen coordination and promotion, encourage activity at different times of day, and help develop a welcoming, safe and lively evening economy.

Youth

Young people are central to Liskeard’s future. The Partnership will seek to involve them in shaping ideas and decisions, understand the opportunities and challenges they experience, and support projects that improve skills, confidence, participation and access to local activities. Giving young people a stronger voice will help ensure that renewal reflects the needs of every generation.

The Liskeard Renewal Partnership is designed to provide a clear forum for collaboration, bringing together ideas and expertise and helping suitable projects move from discussion to delivery. Through its focus on business growth, events and the evening economy, and youth, it will work to build on Liskeard’s strengths and support a prosperous, welcoming and vibrant town for local people and visitors alike.

The board meets monthly, and smaller working groups focused on the three priorities meet between these and include other relevant stakeholders.
